Is money too tight to mention for Year 6?

On Monday, Year 6 travelled to London to the British Museum to see an exhibition of coins and money systems from around the world. The class is currently studying the History of Money, looking at the first type of monetary system used (salt believe it or not!) and how coinage and paper money has evolved, bringing it right up to date with credit cards and banking systems.

They engaged in an informative and knowledgeable talk on money and were able to handle exhibits in the museum. The items on show in the museum included shells and other forms of bartering once used as types of money across the globe.
