Champions make a splash!

Triumphant Haddon Dene

Haddon Dene were crowned the Kent Primary Small Schools Swimming Champions 2018. The team produced some fantastic swims to be triumphant and there was also individual success for Olivia as she claimed the Kent Primary Small Schools backstroke title.

The team consisting of Olivia, Betty and Isabella from year six and Noah, William and Jacob from year five, battled it out against the top swimming teams from across primary schools in Kent. Olivia secured a gold in the 50m backstroke, Isabella valiantly claimed a bronze and William a sixth place medal in the 50m breaststroke.

There was more glory in the small schools freestyle relay with Isabella, Betty, Noah and Olivia swimming fearlessly in a time of 1.08.35 to claim another gold. Later on, the same team thrashed it out to become champions in the small schools medley relay in a time of 1.16.78 bringing their final medal haul to three golds, one bronze and a sixth place.

Mrs Crompton, Head of Physical Education at the school, said: "I am so proud of our swimming team. They have trained incredibly hard leading up to this event. They are proof that hard work really does pay off."

Haddon Dene have qualified the for the next stage Regional Qualifier round which will take place in May.
