Pumpkin Fun

With Halloween falling on a school day, all across the school, including for our PTA Pumpkin-Carving Competition, our pupils have been busy carving pumpkins, from Little Denes creating a tunnel for their toy trains, to some...fearsome and rather scary pumpkins for our competition, like the one above!

Away from Hallowe'en, our Year 6 have been preparing for a different celebration, that of Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead, by making marigolds, the Mexican national flower and Calacas (skulls) which will be used to decorate an alter in our main hall entrance in remembrance of loved ones. It's always interesting to explore other cultures and how they commemorate important events.
