Inspirational School trip to the West End

Matilda school trip success

Haddon Dene pupils made the eagerly anticipated school trip to the West End to see Matilda the musical last week.  Forty-five excited children from the junior school boarded the coach all ready for their trip to London. After a fleeting stop at the O2 in Greenwich for lunch, we arrived at the theatre in time for the matinee performance.

The show was fantastic from start to finish.  It was a feast for the senses and had us laughing, gasping and singing along as we followed Matilda and her friends on their journey. The talented child actors in the show performed with boundless energy and we are sure that our children were inspired by their performances! It was wonderful to see the faces of our children as they watched the show, and we all left feeling incredibly uplifted and excited for our performance in June.

The children were an absolute credit to the school with members of the public and coach company complimenting them on their good behaviour.  All in all, a fantastic experience, and we can’t wait to get planning our next trip!

A huge thank you to Mrs Golding (Performing Arts Teacher), who organised this brilliant event and to the parents who helped on the day too. It was all very beneficial to the children.
